3 février 2015

MAGIC and TANDEM are go !

Two Horizon2020 infrastructure support project proposals involving GÉANT have successfully completed the evaluation stage. These are MAGIC and TANDEM, both of which have a focus on global collaboration :

MAGIC (Middleware for collaborative Applications and Global vIrtual Communities)
The MAGIC Project seeks to establish a set of agreements for Europe, Latin America and other participating World Regions, aiming at consolidating and completing the building blocks of middleware necessary for the establishment of a marketplace of services and real-time applications for international and inter-continental research groups which facilitates mobility and the work of global science communities.
MAGIC will focus on expanding training and deployment : of eduroam and ID federation (with integration into eduGAIN within the regional networks at the heart of the project) ; a model for inter-operation between NREN cloud application markets ; real-time application interoperability ; and the fostering of Global Science Communities.
The project is related to the ELCIRA project (www.elcira.eu) and intends to enable the experiences and successes of ELCIRA to be shared with R&E networks in other world regions.
