The RENATER CERT (RENATER Computer Emergency Response Team) has an information, detection and support mission covering security incidents detected and reported on the RENATER network.
The detection of certain incidents is possible through the combined use of different tools, and in particular the metrology tools set up on the network. It results in a report to the site(s) in question.
The preventive dimension of the RENATER CERT mission is essentially provided by sending different types of bulletins to its correspondents on RENATER sites:
- Announcements regarding the discovery of security vulnerabilities in various hardware and software;
- A weekly bulletin listing information on observed attacks, critical security vulnerabilities or those likely to concern RENATER community members.
- Security alerts to draw users’ attention to ongoing attacks, unpatched critical security vulnerabilities, etc.
