At the service of Education-Research community students, researchers, teachers and staff, RENATER offers a highly reliable, secure network, facilitating collaboration and the convergence of scientific and academic projects at national, European and international levels.

BUT HOW DOES THE RENATER NETWORK OPERATE?

Network expertise at the service of advanced technology

A RENATER network link is composed of several layers:

  • The infrastructure is mainly optical fibre
  • Network hardware
  • Data exchange protocols

Through these different devices, information is transported as packets, directed according to their characteristics.

Using our 24*7 monitoring, we guarantee that incidents are not noticed by our users thanks to our network resilience.

RENATER’s expertise is based on its infrastructure engineering, its hardware and hardware configuration.

Data flows adapted to needs

The RENATER network at the national level supports IP Services from 50 M to 10 G and up to 100 G for specific research projects.
In addition to the general Internet, using RENATER, you connect your institution to the Education-Research community in France, Europe and beyond.

HOW TO CONNECT TO THE RENATER NETWORK?

At the national level, RENATER provides Internet access and associated services to more than 1300  Education-Research community sites.

Your institution is connected to the national RENATER network using local access networks.

MORE THAN JUST A NETWORK

To let you benefit from the RENATER network performance and security, we propose a set of packs including IP Services (for a wide range of IP speeds), giving you access to the general Internet, as well as to all our services.

Regardless of the pack, you have access to the different available RENATER services, including the Education-Research Federation, the Security services (AntiSpam, Scan’ER, TCS) and all the Collaboration services (Rendez-vous, FileSender, Evento, etc.).
