Choice of the RENATER Nodes ( NR) of connecting
The topology of the network RENATER is described in the Network section on the RENATER web site. The various available maps allow to find the closest NR to the customer network
It is important to validate the NR of connecting with the network technical support of the GIP RENATER.
Interfaces
The attribution of a port must be systematically validated beforehand by the GIP RENATER.
Jumper cables
The supply and the installation of the jumper cables are the responsibility of the site.
When connecting, the GIP RENATER communicates the point of demarcation, which is the limit between the domains of responsibility. Generally, the point of demarcation is the port of the RENATER equipment of the NR. In certain cases he can be a position on a patch panel.
Equipment of the users
RENATER does not supply a space of hosting for user equipment’s in its bays. Sites can contact directly the technical persons in charge of the NR to find solutions. The network technical support can communicate the address and phone number of the persons in charge for every NR.
VLANs
By default, the interface is configured in native mode, which meaning that no VLAN are parameterized and all the services are then configured on the global interface. It does not allow to offer on the same physical interface services of VPN and IP services.

BGP-4
The only protocol of routing allowing the interconnection between RENATER and the customer network is BGP-4. A peering eBGP is configured between the RENATER router(s) and the customer network router(s).
Choice of the type of routing
3 types of announcements can be received from RENATER (for each of the families of addresses IPv4 unicast / multicast and IPv6 unicast / multicast):
The entirety of the table of Internet routing (the router of the customer network has to be capable of supporting the number of received roads)
A road by default
All the prefixes of the RENATER establishments
The mode of configuration must be asked to the network technical support
