RENATER network users are institutions known as «eligible », which means that its status and activities allow it to ask an approval from RENATER.
There are two kinds of eligible institutions:
- Those, which are a GIP member or under the supervision of a GIP member and which can thereby, ask for an approval.
- Those, which are not attached to a GIP member but which are nevertheless allowed because their activity is in accordance with the code of ethics (see below or check with the GIP); in this case, the connection to RENATER will result in a financial agreement on tariff published by the GIP.
The network users are: _Educational institutions, _Public research institution, _Other institutions or private companies for their R&D, training, scientific and technical documentation activities _Management and administration of research and education activities are related to research or the education
